Illustrated with 6 finely engraved double page maps by Nicolas Visscher; World map, Het Paradijs (Garden of Eden) 40 years pelgrimage of the children of Israel, Jerusalem, the Promised land , and the map with the wanderings of the Apostle Paulus. Very generous margins. All titles pages present as called for. Fine contemporary Russia over wooden boards with bronze catches, clasps and cornerpieces. Spine, with raised bands, professionally restored. the book and binding are sound and good. The book is, due to the experiments by the printing office, creating the blackesst of inks, seriously browned throughout (!!!) Still very well readable. All in all, a majestic, very tall Dutch Bible from an esteemed printing house. |
