(6 inches x 216 inches), original gilt stamped [St.Paul's] cloth, slightly faded. The 1972 reprint editor states: "As a print it is unequalled in the history of wood engraving, and is alike valuable as a work of art and as an historical record of the appearance of the Great Metropolis seen from the Thames in 1844" Apart for some very mild browning [in places] an almost spottless copy of a fine panoramic London view. See: Abbey Life 564. Certainly not an uncommon print, but hard to find in such a fine condiion. |
