With some curious selections from The Islands of Rhodes and Cyprus and the Celebrated Cities of Corinth, Carthage and Tripoli, With historical observations (etc.) London, 1803. With 24 very fine, full page, handcoloured aquatint plates. Fine contemporary 1/2 calf, gilded spine with raised bands, fine marbled boards. See: Blackmer 1098; Abbey Travel, 369; Gay 2145. Rohricht p. 339; Weber 1, 1101. & Atabey; 786. Note; both vols. have the plates bound together, before the text pages, thus preventing any offsetting of the texts onto the delicate plates. We do have another very good copy of this fine travel book with a 3rd. work by Luigi Mayer bound to these same 2 titles: Views in Egypt from the original drawings in the posession of Sir Robert Ainslie Taken During His Embassy To Constantinople By Luigi Mayer: Engraved Under The Direction Of Thomas Milton.
