"Thus spoke Zarathustra" Not what it seems, a translation of Also Sprach Zarathustra, but a collection with commentary of unflattering quotations from German authors on Germany, compiled by Loe Lichtvelt, and published again in 1946 under his pen name Abert Helman, with the title Teutonenspiegel Titlpage decorated with an embossed figure of Germania in gold outline on a red background The imprint is false in fact published by Franso Hoes , Amsterdam. An ususpected visit by the Gestapo when the book was being printed caused the breaking up of the type set for page 172 which is therefore left blank except for an inserted slip promising restoration of the text "later" (!!) Copy Nr. 92 from an edition of 275 copies printed by G.G. van Elburg, Warmond, "in secret somewhere in occupied Holland" and dedicated to the "Ratcatcher in Berlin", alluding to a line in Jan Campert's famous poem De achttien dooden in which Hitler is called the Pied Piper, or ratcatcher of Berlin.
