descriptionA fine and elaborately engraved town plan of Amsterdam, with a nice coat of arms and a lot of well proportioned ships, made by the most celebrated master- cartographer ever, Blaeu. Published in 1649 for the famous "Groot Toonneel der Steden " (Town Atlas of the Low Countries)published in 1649 to celebrate the independance from the Spanish oppressor. There is Dutch text at verso. A highly decorative, no longer common, map in stunning colour
