The title page to the months; restored, old folds professionally strengthened, margins soiled, but well printed and rare.

descriptionElaborately engraves suites of the 12 months, with all the allegories and symbols one can think of, as well as the Zodiacal sign at the top of this fine prints. Very richly staffed with finely captured figures and very, very nicely designed landscapes and trees. The [very rare] title page gives within an architectural frieze, with an elaborately engraved portico, 4 allegorical figures in niches, and a sword carrying man at the centre. at the bottom, a 4 line dedication to the archduke of Austria. The 4 Seasons; Masterly executed prints, richly staffed with well chosen symbolic and allegorical figures ,dreamlike landscapes ans trees ,fine architectural details; Very very fine and most decorative. A true masterwork. (These two suites may eventually be sold separately)
