description | A birds eye view at the (then) just finished Amsterdam Stock-Exchange, designed by Hendrik de Keyser, seen from the front side with the tower. In the centre court and around the entrance many well dressed people. Title in a banner at top-centre, A well engraved cartouche with an 8 line poem by the celebrated P.C.Hooft, whom's brother Hendrik laid the foundation stone may 29 Th. 1608. This fine building was demolished in 1835. This uncommon print was taken from an early edition of Guicciardini "Descritione de tutti I Paessi Bassi" printed at the renonwned Blaeu Press at Amsterdam. |
