descriptionA breathtaking view of the fierce battle of Kijkduin. Unnumerable ships in fierce fighting, a lengthy legend beneath the image and at top left- and righ-hand side inside the image counting 115 numbers, naming all ships & their Commanders. Title in a banner upper centre. Old folds hardly visible, a minor blemish but, a most 'silky' evenly printed copy of this sought after and important naval print. (Taken from the 1687 folio edition of the 'Life of de Ruiter' by Gerard Brandt.)
